This past weekend I had the best fitting EVER! I mean it. I didn't expect to walk into White House Black Market but I was drawn in and I couldn't let go. The chic styles they are offer are very much my style. I have expensive style by the way. I love the androgynous minimalist feel I got from their clothes. I felt very dapper and very chic.
I want to give a special thank you to Kim at the White House Black Market shop in Belmont Shore. This past weekend Kim styled me for a fitting. I was not expecting to go in there and purchase anything. I will be going back to snag a few items shown and not shown in these pictures. Waiting for this check to drop lol.
So let's get right into it ladies because I know you're dying to know how I keep myself dapper and chic while wearing business causal attire. Olivia Pope coming to you in 5, 4, 3, 2, 1....
Blazer | SEASONLESS DART-PANEL BLAZER
Blouse | 3/4 SLEEVE SURPLICE BLOUSE
Cami | WIDE LACE CAMI
Pants | CITY KNIT PONTE ANKLE PANTS
Heels | OLIVIA BLACK PUMPS
Jacket | PETITE CROPPED MOTO JACKET
Sweater | SLEEVELESS TURTLENECK PULLOVER
Pants | CITY KNIT PONTE ANKLE PANTS
Shoes | OLIVIA BLACK PUMPS
Overall, I really like these two looks. The prices are really expensive but worth an investment if you're working in the corporate world. If you live any where near an outlet I would suggest going there around black Friday! My fitting room session had over $1000 worth of clothes in it. I know! right. Even if I walked out with two really solid outfits I would be paying around $300. Remember that your professional wardrobe is an investment. It is not like your casual attire so in invest in pieces like pants.
IT IS NOT CHEAP TO BE CHIC. OK! ~ Sonja Sky
TIP: You can also try searching for similar pieces at places like H&M, Zara, Asos, or Forever 21. I actually found the same turtle neck blouse at Forever 21 for way less.

Don't go in to debt trying to impress people. The funny thing about trends is that there's always some dupe out there for a less price but know sometimes you give up quality in that search.
I will end up purchasing is the pants because they fit like no other and I will also be snagging the blazer because it made me look slim in the waist.
Ps, I wear color in the work place to keep in chic. I know my blog features a lot of black in white but I hope to show you more of my business attire as the winter hits.

Thank you, I should do more tips, but thanks for telling me to do this. I have to order my sweater online because they did not have it in stores yet. I guess F21 hasn't released their fall collection. Overall, I have to stay chic and fierce. I just can't be broke and doing all that LOL.

I am dying at "Act Your Wage!" so true!
ReplyDeletePeople over spend and then end up broke because they don't do the right thing by living in their means! Dressing chic as you said isn't cheap but it doesn't have to be so expensive!
Love the new site layout! It's very simple and classy!

Hey!
DeleteYes, I'm going to try to talk more about spending less and getting more bang for your buck when shopping for business attire or minimalist attire. Being chic is hard! but you don't have to lose all your coins trying to be trendy.
Thanks for the comment on the new layout. I am also looking to rebrand within a few months. Overall, it's been a good six months and I look forward to be writing more post.
Congrats on the Lilumia launch! I can't wait to see more.

I'm a bargain shopper through and through but I definitely agree that when it comes to your career pieces you shouldn't be afraid to invest more money than usual but do so within reason. Thanks for sharing these tips!
