Instant pot collard greens
Cook on high, normal for 25 mins
Step 1:
2 ham hocks (1 for every pound of greens)
Best results cook ham hocks or turkey legs over the stove first to let it brown/boil.
2 ham hocks
1 beef bouillon cube
2 cups of water
Drain then put in a pan with little oil to brown.
Then add it to the instapot.
If not, browning/boiling ham hocks: STEP 2
2 ham hocks (uncooked in instapot on top of greens)
2 pounds of collard greens in the bag ( washed )
1 tablespoon of minced garlic
scallions (optional)
whole onion diced finely
2-3 yellow peppers
2 tablespoons of sugar
1/3 cup of vinegar
3 tablespoons of salt
3 tablespoons of garlic powder
3 tables spoons of red pepper flakes
3 tablespoons of onion powder
1 vegetable bouillon cube (some people just use cajun seasoning)
32 oz bottle of chicken broth (you can double if you like)
Cooking:
Cook on high, normal for 25 mins
It will take 40 mins to an hour for the pressure cooker to release naturally.
Total cook time 1 hr and 35 mins.
You can continue to season after the greens have cooked in the instapot.
