Getty Villa Museum

My best friend has been dying to go to the Getty Villa in Malibu and I never been so I took him for his birthday. He had a blast! There was so much to see there we were actually surprised. We could of spent hours out there looking at the landscape, architecture, and the artifacts. They also give tours of the architecture and landscape, but we opted out so we could walk around and just take pictures.





The museum is something to see. I paid $15 for parking. Entry into the museum is free! You have to schedule an appointment and you can't just walk in either. There's a large gate and you have to pass through security and pay for parking before you can enter. If you're really into Roman and Greek history, then the Getty Villa is the place for you! Being a history buff, I really enjoyed seeing how the vases or urns were made. The most exciting piece of art on display for me were the uniforms for the soldiers and the horses. Everything was so artfully done in Roman culture and the Villa recreated that environment very well.



There are guards everywhere, but you can't really see them unless you're creeping behind a corner. The property is big that there's acres of land and you can see all the way out to the ocean in certain places.



Please note that the Villa turned off the water due to the drought in Los Angeles. 



It was a disappointment to go on the day the Villa decided to cut off its water supply, but it was still nice to wander around and enjoy the California sunshine.
